Chu Associates London is an independent design and programme consultancy, embedded as Trusted Adviser to global technology, financial and professional services firms across EMEIA and APAC.
We own the full project lifecycle — from site selection and brief development through design management, consultant procurement, risk governance and handover — delivering quality, programme and cost performance at scale.
In 28 years of practice we have delivered over 400 projects for more than 30 clients across 40 countries, 52 cities and six sectors. Our clients include Apple Inc, Accenture, Adobe Systems, nVidia, The British Council, Amazon, Unilever and Zurich Insurance.
The Practice
Chu Associates London was founded in 1996 by Hans Chu and incorporated as a limited company on 27 April 1999. For 28 years the practice has operated as an embedded Trusted Adviser to some of the world’s most demanding organisations — including Apple Inc, Adobe Systems, nVidia, Accenture, The British Council, Amazon and Zurich Insurance — delivering complex workplace design and programme management across EMEIA and APAC. Current work includes design and programme leadership of Accenture’s Connected Innovation Centres in London, Riyadh and Paris — experiential environments purpose-built to integrate strategy, design and emerging technology at global scale.
We are a focused, senior-led practice that operates at principal level throughout every engagement. Our clients choose us because they want direct access to experience — not because they want to be managed by a junior team on behalf of a senior partner they rarely see.
The Principal
Hans Chu founded the practice after 7 years at BDG McColl, where he led the design of major workplace and institutional projects across the United Kingdom and Europe including The British Council move from London to Manchester. Since establishing Chu Associates, he has been engaged as Trusted Adviser to Fortune 500 and Nasdaq-listed technology firms, global financial institutions, and major public sector organisations across six continents.
He brings a rare combination of design leadership and programme management at international scale — having personally directed the delivery of over 400 projects across 40 countries, managing multi-disciplinary consultant and contractor teams, negotiating procurement frameworks, and reporting directly to Real Estate Directors and C-suite stakeholders in complex, cross-cultural environments.
Apart from his design qualifications Hans Chu holds an MBA from Cambridge Judge Business School (2025) with specialist modules in risk mitigation, high-performance team leadership, and vendor and partner management. He is a Member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and a recipient of the German Award for Interior Architecture (2020).
